Orissa State Museum
Orissa state museum was founded in1932. After six years Orissa Government took over the charge of the Museum and announces it as the Orissa state Museum. This Museum largely displays the art form and the civilization of the region. The manuscript section of this Museum is particularly mentionable.
The massive collection of manuscripts has enriched the grade of the Museum. It has a odd collection of manuscripts like palm-leaf manuscripts, bamboo leaf manuscripts etc...
Apart from manuscripts Orissa state Museum has an amazing collected works of copper plates, coins, stone inscriptions, miniature paintings, patta paintings, brassware, and sculptures.
The Museum remains open to the private from 10am to 5pm except Mondays and other Government holidays.
